چکیده

Background – enraged software users to form a new political party? In his Circuits column of February 28, 2002, David Pogue of The New York Times reported about the several hundred emails he had received in response to an earlier column about "Lousy tech support". He quotes 12 of them, enraged users who testify about: simple tasks that fail, online help that does not help, online help numbers that get erased by software companies being drowned in complaints, and the Boston Tea Party as a model for how a new "support party" may be formed. David Pogue sums up his feeling with these words: "Clearly, there is enough anger in these messages to merit a Web site, a book, a political party. Just tell me where to sign."

Challenges in Annotation of useR Data for UbiquitOUs Systems: Results from the 1st ARDUOUS Workshop

Labelling user data is a central part of the design and evaluation of pervasive systems that aim to support the user through situation-aware reasoning. It is essential both in designing and training the system to recognise and reason about the situation, either through the definition of a suitable situation model in knowledge-driven applications [28, 3], or through the preparation of training d...

A Model-Driven Decision Support System for Software Cost Estimation (Case Study: Projects in NASA60 Dataset)

Estimating the costs of software development is one of the most important activities in software project management. Inaccuracies in such estimates may cause irreparable loss. A low estimate of the cost of projects will result in failure on delivery on time and indicates the inefficiency of the software development team. On the other hand, high estimates of resources and costs for a project wil...

CoALT: A Software for Comparing Automatic Labelling Tools

Speech-text alignment tools are frequently used in speech technology and research. In this paper, we propose a GPL software CoALT (Comparing Automatic Labelling Tools) for comparing two automatic labellers or two speech-text alignment tools, ranking them and displaying statistics about their differences. The main feature of CoALT is that a user can define its own criteria for evaluating and com...

Assessing the Quality of User-interface Modeling Languages

Model-Driven Development (MDD) is an approach that considers model as first citizen elements in the context of software development. Since there are so many modeling languages, there is a need to compare them and choose the best for each concrete situation. The selection of the most appropriate modeling language may influence the output’s quality, whether it is only a set of models or software....

Software Engineering is the discipline which develops and evaluates concepts, languages, methods and tools for professional software development in order to yield high-quality software systems. During the last decade, the paradigm of a model-driven development (MDD) has become prominent and is nowadays the accepted method for industrial software development. The main idea is to work with interm...
